Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She's written 15 books and is the cofounder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is an writer, journalist, TV host and the owner of The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece she moved to England at the age of 16 and graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. As the first foreign student to be elected president in the famous debate club The Cambridge Union, at age 21 she took over the presidency. In the years following after her college graduation, she became a well-known Conservative syndicated journalist. After a few years later she created The Huffington Post which featured criticism of the present politics. It was her celebrity that helped to attract several famous contributors who shared their views on current events, politics and culture. Arianna gained notoriety in 2003 when she ran as an independent candidate in the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. Alongside this, she directed a Detroit project to promote the use of fuel-efficient cars. In 2009 she was recognized by Forbes as The most influential women in media gaining 12th place on the listing and the following year the Guardian listed her on the top 100 of media lists. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she became president of this media group. This included many AOL properties at that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. The parents of her were Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. They were who was a consultant in management as well as a journalist. While she was very close to her father it was the relationship she shared with her mother that shaped her entire life. In her earliest times, she demonstrated leadership skills for which her name is still well-known. When she was 16 years old her family moved to England in the United Kingdom for her higher education. In Girton College Cambridge. As a student, she joined the Cambridge Union, a college debate club. Being the third woman president and the first foreigner she was the president of the Cambridge Union. In 1972 she graduated with a master's degree in Economics. The career of TV host and journalist was born after graduation. Alongside Bernard Levin she appeared on an edition of Face the music.
