Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She's written 15 books and is the cofounder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington has worked as an actor, journalist, philanthropist and author for over ten years. She is also the owner of The Huffington Post, an free-of-cost online news magazine. Her birthplace was in Greece then moved to England at age 16. In Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in Economics. She was the first person who was not from the UK to become president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. Following graduation, she left her mark as columnist in the conservative syndicated media and with the launch of The Huffington Post' few years later, she launched a voice-based website that offered critical observations regarding the state of affairs. Her fame and popularity helped by attracting a variety of high-profile contributors to post their views about news from the world of politics and culture. Arianna was first noticed when she ran in California's recall vote, replacing then Governor Davis. In addition, she was the leader of a Detroit project that promoted fuel efficient cars. Forbes declared her to be the "most powerful female" in media, placing her at 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 most important media figures in 2009. AOL, Inc. appointed her President of their media group in 2011 after they purchased The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post also included the other AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list as well as Patch Media. She was the daughter of journalist and management consultant Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. Though she shared a close connection to both of her parents but it was their connection which shaped her. She was a leader throughout her childhood. As a 16-year-old her family moved to England in the United Kingdom for her higher education. At Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college, where she was the first woman to hold the position of president. In 1972, she earned the degree of master's in Economics. The career of a journalist and television host was born after graduation. Alongside Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
