born on January. 19 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn into a low-income family that would ultimately comprise 12 kids Dolly Parton learned early to escape the hardships of life by using her vivid and far-ranging imagination. The songs she wrote were composed before she learned to write or read. After getting her first instrument at age 8, she started to play at radio stations in Knoxville, Tennessee. Gold Band Records is a tiny, independent label. The singer established a name in the local scene while in high school but she always dreamed of having a bigger stage. When she was graduating in 1964, she moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first album to be charted for the first time on Monument Records. In the year 1967, Porter Wagoner was looking for an actress to sing for his television show that was syndicated. Parton took the offer in 1967 and signed to RCA Records in 1968 and was a part of the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. The show was cancelled by Wagoner, but in 1974, because her solo albums such as Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene beat out their collaborative albums. Following their breakup, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it climbed to Number. The first time it made it to number 1 was in 1974.
